Supposed Lunar Moon pics from JAXA Japanese space agency from the Kaguya. This all looks CGI to me. The Earth Rise pic is total nonsense, the earth is 4X the moon, even at the supposed 237k miles it should be bigger, not to mention the total cgi look to it all. The Japanese are wiser than the Chinese to not put anything actually landing on the "moon", no need for all that studio space, lighting and crew. It's probably a function of the cost, of course China has no cost problems with...

I dug out an old chestnut this week,as I've been busy recording music for upcoming releases the last couple weeks. This was a tribute to a guy i used to work with ,Steve Bourden (whom I christened ,"Steve Boredom",punk rock yeah?),who was going into the army during Desert Storm (idiot!),so i'm talking to him throughout the podcast, dedicating songs to him,and asking him questions. It was also Mother's Day ,and Jeff McDonald and I sat poolside for this live Sunday tea dance podcast of...

Phoebe's true nature is revealed in startling clarity in this mosaic of two images taken during Cassini's flyby on June 11, 2004. The image shows evidence for the emerging view that Phoebe may be an ice-rich body coated with a thin layer of dark material. Small bright craters in the image are probably fairly young features. This phenomenon has been observed on other icy satellites, such as Ganymede at Jupiter. When impactors slammed into the surface of Phoebe, the collisions excavated fresh,...

Early images returned from the first detailed reconnaissance of Saturn's small outer moon, Phoebe, show breathtaking details in the moon's pockmarked surface that already have imaging scientists puzzling over the body's history. The images are only a preview of what to expect from the high resolution images to be examined later today which will show details about 10 times smaller. Phoebe has revealed itself to be a rugged, heavily cratered body, with overlapping craters of varying sizes. This...

The Koyal Group Info Mag Articles - While these stories may have not made Science's 'Top 10 science stories of the year' list touting the biggest discoveries of the year, many interesting findings made headline in 2013. Last year held plenty of off-beat and off-the-beaten-track findings and news: Humans ate the first test-tube hamburger, a plan to capture an asteroid was launched, and a mind-controlled prosthetic leg was made. These are the kinds of findings that make science fun, so we decided...

I found this cow skull out in the woods near my house. There were various bones scattered about, some half-buried in the leaf litter. All had a bluish-green tint from the algae living in the pores.
